BAMMA 33

BAMMA 33
RYAN SCOPE Vs MICKAEL LEBOUT
North East native Ryan Scope was on the verge of a UFC call up but a submission loss to former Cage Warriors champ Lewis Long saw his undefeated streak come to an end. He’ll be looking to get back to winning ways and pick up momentum once again and defeating a UFC veteran wouldn’t do him any harm. If Scope comes in to this one in the right frame of mind he has the skills to blow Lebout out of the water.
WINNER: Scope
METHOD: KO/TKO

AARON CHALMERS Vs KARL DONALDSON
The reality TV star has faced heavy criticism from casual armchair fans and fellow pros a like for instant limelight time in not only his first pro fight but his first ever fight period. Here he is in only his third appearance and again, the critics will be out in force but the guy can only beat who is put in front of him and let’s be honest, who wouldn’t want this opportunity? Chalmers opponent was only confirmed a few weeks ago but it won’t affect the outcome. Expect another highlight real knockout for BAMMA’s ticket seller against an opponent with limited experience.
WINNER: Chalmers
METHOD: KO/TKO

COLIN FLETCHER Vs ANTHONY DIZY
The Sunderland native and UFC veteran really has his work cut out here as Frenchman Dizy has looked impressive in his last two outings and will be looking to take his first big name. Fletcher can sometimes be unpredictable in his performances but a good camp and the hometown support should be enough to find the ‘on button’ and raise the roof come fight night.
WINNER: Fletcher
METHOD: Submission

FABIAN EDWARDS Vs LOUIS KING
It feels like Louis King has been on the MMA scene for a long time, which he has but ‘KO’ has actually only had 2 MMA bouts. One in 2012 and one in 2015. A win against the BAMMA rising star would give his career an instant kick start but it’s a tall order against someone with a huge amount of momentum behind them. Really looking forward to this one! Edwards will probably do the right thing and look for an early takedown here and work in the submission.
WINNER: Edwards
METHOD: Submission

NATHAN JONES Vs ADAM PROCTOR
Proctor is a man that does his talking in the cage (his opponents can all vouch for this!) and although very young, has a mature head on his shoulders. This is arguably down to the guidance of long-term coach and friend Alex Enlund. This is definitely his biggest test and comes against an opponent looking to right the wrongs of his last BAMMA appearance in September of this year. There is no doubt Proctor is ready for the big stage but Jones might just be a little too much to handle on this occasion. However, we think Proctor can scrape a win.
WINNER: Proctor
METHOD: Decision

CURT WARBURTON Vs WARREN KEE
The MMA community was starting to wonder if the former UFC fighter had officially hung up his gloves but it would appear the fire still burns for ‘The War’. Perhaps the thought of fighting in front of friends and family in his local arena was too much to turn down. Regardless, this could well end up being an entertaining kickboxing match. Kee is as game as they come and is the more active fighter (Warburton hasn’t fought since November 2014) but Warburton will step back in to the venue he last competed in and look to end his career on a win.
WINNER: Warburton
METHOD: KO/TKO

JOSH PLANT Vs JUSTIN BURLINSON
With only one pro bout each under each of their belts it will be interesting to see who has built on their pro debut victory, and ready to have their hand raised.
WINNER: Plant
METHOD: KO/TKO

DARREN TOWLER Vs TONY MUSTARD
With James Mulheron now in the UFC, the question of ‘Who is the best heavyweight in the north east domestic scene?’ will be answered after this one. Mustard is an EFC veteran and Towler is the former UCMMA champion so both have decent CV’s. After a couple warm up bouts following time away, Towler looks to be back to doing what he does best. Knocking people out when they choose to stand with him. There is absolutely no way this bout will last longer than one round.
WINNER: Towler
METHOD: KO/TKO

JOSH ABRAHAM Vs LERONE MURPHY
Abraham is partial to a submission victory and should take an arm in this one. If he doesn’t it could mean lights out.
WINNER: Abraham
METHOD: Submission

BELLATOR 191
Michael McDonald Vs Peter Ligier (BW)
Although he hasn’t fought since July 2016, where he was wiped out by the hard hitting John Lineker McDonald’s experience in the big leagues (he was ultimately released by the UFC following his loss to Lineker) should show on the night . Both are making their Bellator debut but ‘May Day’ should prove too much for the Frenchman
WINNER: McDonald
METHOD: KO/TKO

Valerie Letourneau Vs Kate Jackson (FLY)
After three consecutive defeats in the UFC, Letourneau made the switch to Bellator and will be happy to be back in the cage. Letourneau should really turn it on here and show the UFC what they were missing but she’s too much of a cautious fighter. If former TUF contestant Jackson can apply the pressure from the start and realty impose her will she has a chance of beating a big name here.
WINNER: Jackson
METHOD: Decision

James Thompson Vs Phil De Fries (HW)
This is such a tough one to call as both fighters really have experienced everything the modern fight game has to offer with very colourful records to say the least. Both experienced travellers facing opponents all over the world resulting in big wins and even bigger losses. Thompson hasn’t competed since December 2015 but looks in phenomenal shape. If Thompson doesn’t blow De Fries away in the first round he could be taking a trip to Gas City but ultimately, the outcome is a submission win for the North East native (he just might have to weather a very heavy storm first).
WINNER: De Fries
METHOD: Submission

Lewis Monarch Vs Jeremy Petley (LW)
Local lad Monarch will have to dig deep and not let the occasion get to him on the night. A win against Petley should get him back on the road to stardom after a close defeat against Kane Mousah earlier in the year.
WINNER: Monarch
METHOD: Decision

Mohammad Yahya Vs Ash Griffiths (LW)
Griffiths will be looking to end his losing streak. Yahya will be looking to make a statement.
WINNER: Yahya
METHOD: KO/TKO
