SMUGGLING DUDS UFC 234 GAMBLING GUIDE

A huge weekend of MMA finishes with one of the most intriguing match ups for a long time. Former undefeated champion and MMA legend Anderson Silva is back in the octagon against rising star and feared striker Israel Adesanya at UFC 234. Can 'The Spider' turn back the clock or will be see him finally call time on his illustrious career.

UFC 234

Main Card
Robert Whittaker(c) vs. Kelvin Gastelum (MW)
Although you might agree these headliners aren't exactly the most charismatic fight sellers, you can't deny they have paid their dues. Both TUF stars and both highly talented athletes. For us we have to go with Whittaker. Time and time again he has dug deep to get his hand raised and you better believe he'll be doing everything he can to go 10 fights undefeated. Heart wins this one.
WINNER: Whittaker
METHOD: Decision

Israel Adesanya vs. Anderson Silva (MW)
The classic tale of wise old master against the fearsome arrogant younger student. So many people are writing Silva off which is crazy. Why would you underestimate one of the greatest of all time - if not THE greatest. Undefeated in the 15 fights, Adesanya has that aura about him right now that makes opponents run to the hills. Its common knowledge that 29 year old Adesanya is a huge fan of Silva but he's not the kind of fighter to let this bother him too much. We can't wait to see how this one pans out and have decided to back the underdog as the odds are simply too good to ignore.
WINNER: Silva
METHOD: Decision

Rani Yahya vs. Ricky Simon (BW)
Yahya has looked far too slick in his recent outings to not pick him again.
WINNER: Yahya
METHOD: Submisson

Montana De La Rosa vs.Nadia Kassem (FLY)
Purely based on recent performances, De La Rosa takes this one. Probably via submission again.
WINNER: De La Rosa
METHOD: Submission

Jim Crute vs.Sam Alvey (LHW)
Local rising star 'The Brute' to add a seasoned MMA veteran to his record.
WINNER: Crute
METHOD: KO/TKO

Preliminary Card (ESPN)
Devonte Smith vs.Dong Hyun Ma (LW)
It’s not often someone from Dana White's Contender Series makes a big impact in the UFC but Devonte Smith has the potential to break the mold.WINNER: Smith
METHOD: KO/TKO

Shane Young vs. Austin Arnett (FW)
The New Zealand native might not get the stoppage, but he'll sure give it a good go.
WINNER: Young
METHOD: KO/TKO

Kai Kara-France vs. Raulian Paiva (FLY)
Possibly one of the most evenly matched bouts on the card. The only difference is Paiva will be making his UFC debut on the night. Toss of a coin this one.
WINNER: France
METHOD: Decision

Teruto Ishihara vs. Kyung Ho Kang (BW)
Ishihara had all the makings of a global star but a run of terrible performances resulted in him drifting further down the pecking order and away from the limelight. He must get a win here but the reality is he probably won't.
WINNER: Ho Kang
METHOD: Decision

Early Preliminary Card (UFC Fight Pass)
Lando Vannata vs. Marcos Rosa (LW)
Vannata always makes hard work of his fights and this one won't be any different. He's up against a debut UFC athlete in Rosa but should swerve another draw and get the decision.
WINNER: Vannata
METHOD: Decision

Callan Potter vs. Jalin Turner (LW)
A big hit on Dana White's Contender Series, 23 year old Jailin Turner had a rude awakening in his UFC debut back in October last year. We are guessing the youngster will be making sure this doesn't happen again, even against a home town fighter who calls himself 'The Rockstar'
WINNER: Turner
METHOD: KO/TKO

Wuliji Buren vs. Jonathan Martinez (BW)
Neither fighter is safe here as we don't think the UFC would be too bothered about cutting either. Buren seems to stuggle in the UFC so another loss is likely here.
WINNER: Martinez
METHOD: Decision
