BELLATOR NEWCASTLE GAMBLING GUIDE
With mainstream MMA coming to our home city we thought it was only far we treat you to an exclusive Bellator gambling guide. Will the Smuggling Dud sponsored athletes triumph? Will it be a clean sweep for all the local fighters? Let's find out!
Main Card
Patricky Freire vs. Ryan Scope (LW)
A lot of people are writing Scope off and this is probably because the time off in between his fights are often so long fans forget how good he really is. Freire has been in some brilliant tear ups but we just think Scope has been underestimated here. A huge fight for Scope, and another main event slot. He may not get the finish but a decision victory could be on the cards.
WINNER: Scope
METHOD: Decison
Aaron Chalmers vs. Corey Browning (LW)
A legit test for Chalmers. Browning caught public attention in his last outing when he stopped (albeit a debateable one) Kimbo's son, so the former reality TV star will have his work cut out here. Don't be surprised if Browning takes this, but we'll say Chalmers to remain undefeated on the night.
WINNER: Chalmers
METHOD: KO/TKO
Fabian Edwards vs. Lee Chadwick (MW)
A great domestic bout. Both fighters are eager to catch the eye of the UFC so will be pulling out all the stops. Chadwick is an aggressive fighter so we expect Edwards to shut him down early to avoid any danger.
WINNER: Edwards
METHOD: Submission
Terry Brazier vs. Chris Bungard (LW)
Brazier is a man on a mission and has amassed an impressive 9 fight win streak. Bungard is one of the many talents coming out of Scotland right now so it will be interesting to see who takes this one.
WINNER: Brazier
METHOD: Decision
Preliminary card (Bellator.com and Bellator Mobile App)
Cal Ellenor vs. Nathan Greyson (BW)
Sunderland native Ellenor has been honing his skills on the South African circuit of late with some solid performance on EFC. Greyson is on a roll right now though and looks unstoppable. Will be a big win for Ellanor if he can do it.
WINNER: Greyson
METHOD: KO/TKO
James Mulheron vs. Arunus Andriuskevicus (LHW)
Following a very brief spell in the UFC, local hero James 'The Juggernaut' Mulheron will step back in to the mix as a Bellator fighter. Mulheron is never in an easy fight and if Andriuskevicus isn't careful, he'll find himself being dragged in to a full on brawl. This will probably be the case, and powered on by his hometown fans, Mulheron should be able to scrape the judges decision.
WINNER: Mulheron
METHOD: Decision
Darren Towler vs. Karl Etherington (HW)
This will be a case of who lands first. If you are going to the arena, trust us, do not miss this one.
WINNER: Towler
METHOD: KO/TKO
Nathan Rose vs. Ranjett Baria (FW)
Another great domestic bout. Baria to maintain his win streak.
WINNER: Baria
METHOD: KO/TKO
Ashley Reece vs. John Ross (WW)
Reece will be keen to get back to winning ways following his first defeat against Adam Proctor in May last year.
WINNER: Reece
METHOD: Decision
Colin Fletcher vs. Mehrdad Janzemini (WW)
The last time Fletcher fought at the Newcastle arena it turned out to be a very frustrating day at the office. With him now being in the twilight of his career he will need to make the most of this opportunity, against another tough opponent in Janzemini.
WINNER: Fletcher
METHOD: Submission
Paul Elliott vs. Mindaugas Gerve (HW)
Elliot to go 4-0 with another stoppage.
WINNER: Elliot
METHOD: KO/TKO
Jim Wallhead vs. Lewis Long (WW)
Welshman Long has been on the brink of a UFC call up on a few occasions but always seems to lose when on a solid streak. Here he faces one of UK MMA's most seasoned veterans. With the UFC surely having their sites on hosting an event in Wales at some point this is a must win for Long, who really has to shine here to finally get his shot in the organisation. Not going to be easy against a fighter desperate to prove he’s still one of the best in the UK.
WINNER: Wallhead
METHOD: KO/TKO
Davie McLaughlin vs. Kieran Lister (LW)
Both to come out swinging, but Lister to be victorious.
WINNER: Lister
METHOD: KO/TKO
Tony Mustard Vs Mindaugas Gerve (HW)
An entertaining match up that was announced only last week. Similar to Etherington and Towler further up the card, this will be another case of who lands the first clean punch.
WINNER: Gerve
METHOD: KO/TKO
Tommy Quinn vs. Martin Hudson (MW)
Adopted Geordie Tommy 'The Roly Poly Kid' Quinn always manages to put on a show when competing in the North East. This event should be no different. Expect him to have the best walkout music as well.
WINNER: Quinn
METHOD: KO/TKO
Milad Ahady vs. Joseph Calboutin (LW)
Both relatively inexperienced fighters but young prospect Calboutin to make a statement and steam roll through his opponent.
WINNER: Calboutin
METHOD: KO/TKO
