SMUGGLING DUDS UFC 213 GAMBLING GUIDE
What a card this is! Unless anyone takes ill at the weigh-ins this event is full to the brim with amazing fights - which means there's some money to be made. Don't forget to spread the word and tell your friends Smuggling Duds is where it’s at for the best underwear and the best predictions!
Amanda Nunes (C) Vs Valentina Shevchenko (BW)
The first meeting between Nunes and Shevchenko was extremely close but it won’t be the case this time around. Nunes is proving to be quite the champion with a solid team behind her. Shevchenko is an amazing striker with some fantastic footwork but it won’t be enough. I doubt we’ll see a stoppage but it will be the Brazilian who prevails once again.
Yoel Romero Vs Robert Whitaker (MW)
What a clash of titans this one is. Two heavy hitters going head-to-head to prove who should be the interim champ. If this one goes the distance it will be a big surprise. Yoel Romero must use his superior wrestling skills to disable a Whittaker onslaught but the New Zealander has looked like a man on a mission lately and just might do the business in the last round.
Daniel Omielanczuk Vs Curtis Blaydes (HW)
Blades career took a set back when he was smashed by top prospect Francis Ngannou (but lets be honest, nobody is beating Ngannou anytime soon), and his last fight ended in controversy with a NC. Expect to see him back to winning ways with a gritty win over the Polish veteran.
Fabricio Werdum Vs Alistair Overeem (HW)
Both have a win over each other (Werdum by sub in Pride and Overeem on points in Strikeforce) so this is a rubber match where the winner will remain in the UFC heavyweight contender pool and loser shall risk becoming a division gatekeeper.
Anthony Pettis Vs Jim Miller (LW)
The days of Anthony Pettis living up to his ‘Showtime’ moniker seem to be long gone. A devastating loss to Max Holloway in his last outing means he needs to get back to winning ways but we are going for the upset here and the rugged Miller to prove why he should never be underestimated.
PRELIM CARD (Fox Sports 1)
Travis Browne Vs Oleksiy Oliynik (HW)
On paper, Oliynik might look like an easier opponent than the Hawaiian has faced in recent fights (Browne is currently 0-3) but here’s the thing, Browne hasn’t performed at all lately and his long limbs are perfect for a submission specialist to get hold of. The only reason we would back Browne is that he knows he has to win or else he’ll be cut. For us, its not enough and we see him losing again.
Chad Laprise Vs Brian Camozzi (WW)
Late replacement Laprise steps in to fight the brother of seasoned MMA journeyman Chris Camozzi. This shouldn’t matter too much and the TUF Nations winner will take home the ‘W’
Thiago Santos Vs Gerald Meerschaert (MW)
Santos pulled it out the back with a ferocious spinning heel kick KO in his last fight against Jack Marsham. Meerschaert has been making opponents give up for fun (he’s won his last 4 by submission) and we foresee the party to keep on going for him.
Jordan Mein Vs Belal Muhammad (WW)
Things haven’t really gone to plan since Mein made his return to the UFC following a short retirement spell. Muhammad is no push over but Mein should be able to get his hands raised here.
PRELIM CARD (UFC Fight Pass)
Rob Font Vs Douglas Silva de Andrade (BW)
I don’t think we’ve used this phrase yet so here’s a ‘This one could go either way’ for you! Two talented bantam weights capable of producing a knockout.
Cody Stamann Vs Terrion Ware (FW)
Another two fighters will be making their UFC debut on this event. When this happens it’s a tough one because we all know UFC Octagon jitters are real! ‘Mr Wonderful’ should add to his 6 fight win streak.
Trevin Giles Vs James Bochnovic (LHW)
Two UFC debutantes right here. The only difference being Bochnovic took the call on a weeks notice! Will this prove to be a factor? Possibly, but the guys a submission machine so he won’t care too much.
