SMUGGLING DUDS UFC 219 GAMBLING GUIDE

So here we are the final gambling guide of 2017. If you follow our guides I’m sure you will agree it’s been quite a ride. We’ve been screwed by dodgy decisions, burned by a few upsets but always managed to rinse the bookies with some epic underdog pics!

Thank you for continued support and see you in the New Year!

UFC 218

Cris Cyborg (C) Vs Holly Holm (FW)
Can Holm shock the world again? As huge fans of the sport we would love to see this but the odds are very much stacked against her, and rightly so. The bottom line is Cristiane Justino is a savage. She is a different breed of female fighter. Holm has been beaten by people a lot less imposing than Cyborg and the onslaught is going to be too much too handle. Tonya Evinger, arguably one of the toughest female fighters in the world managed to hold out until the third round against Cyborg in July, but couldn’t take any more punishment. ‘The Preachers Daughter’ might stand a chance if Cyborg runs out of gas in the later rounds but we think she’ll be seeing stars before that happens.
WINNER: Cyborg
METHOD: KO/TKO

Khabib Nurmagomedov Vs Edson Barboza (LW)
When he actually competes Nurmagomedov is one of the best MMA athletes in the game right now. Some say he’s the best fighter without a title. We would agree and if he makes weight comfortably Barboza is going to find out why fighters are not lining up to face ‘The Eagle’ Barboza’s game plan will be to diffuse any take downs with leg strikes...but he’ll be on his back within the first minute just like everyone else.
WINNER: Nurmagomedov
METHOD: Decision

Jimmie Rivera Vs John Linekar (BW)
This one has the potential to an absolute barn burner as Rivera and Linekar love a scrap. If a first round battle of machismo ends up taking place on the night it could be lights out for someone. Rivera’s cardio should see him through and the more likely result is this one goes the distance.
WINNER: Rivera
METHOD: Decision

Cynthia Calvillo Vs Carla Esparza (STRAW)
Going the distance is a safe bet for this one as whoever wins shall be doing it by a decision. Calvillo is still unbeaten but she almost lost to a fighter with limited grappling in Jo Jo Caldwerwood. Esparza won’t be looking to trade strikes with her opponent and will hold on for dear life to secure the win.
WINNER: Esparza
METHOD: Decision

Carlos Condit Vs Neil Magny (WW)
Finally we get the return of ‘The Natural Born Killer’ Carlos Condit! Even though it has only really been a year it sure feels like forever, but with injury troubles out the way (for now) the one time title contender is back. Condit has been put against the awkward Neil Magny, a taller fighter with a greater reach. Magny has the potential to scrape a points victory so maybe leave this one off your accumulator. Condit needs to put injury concerns behind him and go all out. Fans will be hoping the same.
WINNER: Condit
METHOD: KO/TKO

Dan Hooker Vs Marc Diakiese (LW)
Having had his epic twelve fight winning streak ended against Drakkar Klose, Diakiese will be out for vengeance and unfortunately Dan Hooker is in his way. Hooker is perfectly capable of producing the goods (as displayed by knocking out veteran Ross Pearson early in the year) but he’s too inconsistent and Diakiese is too hungry.
WINNER: Diakiese
METHOD: KO/TKO

Louis Smolka Vs Matheus Nicolau (FLY)
Both athletes are still very young in age but it feels like Smolka has been around for ages. Currently experiencing a three fight losing streak this could potentially be his last outing as a UFC fighter unless he turns it up a level.
WINNER: Nicolau
METHOD: Decision

Myles Jury Vs Rick Glenn (LW)
After back-to-back losses hot prospect Myles Jury took some time out (almost two years) and came back with a bang in April this year putting away Mike De La Torre in the first round. Rick Glenn isn’t called ‘The Gladiator’ for nothing and the bout certainly won’t be a walk in the park, but Jury seems to be back on track, so a stoppage might not be the worst shout here but we’ll go with a split decision win.
WINNER: Jury
METHOD: KO/TKO

Marvin Vettori Vs Omari Akhmedov (MW)
Italy Vs Russia! Having both spent time at the world famous Jackson Wink gym it is inevitable a few training sessions and perhaps sparring rounds have been shared. Italy might get a superstar by the end of this event.
WINNER: Vettori
METHOD: KO/TKO

Khalil Rountree Vs Michal Oleksiejczuk (LHW)
Oleksiejczuk has ripped through the Polish domestic scene racking up an impressive nine wins in a row. He’s up against a whole different animal in the form of Khalil Rountree though so a UFC rude awakening is the likely outcome here.
WINNER: Rountree
METHOD: KO/TKO
