SMUGGLING DUDS UFC 236 GAMBLING GUIDE

With a number of UFC Fight Nights taking place it feels like we've not done one of these in a while so let’s get straight to it and find out who will be victorious in an absolute barn burner of a main event!

UFC 236

Main Card
Max Holloway vs.Dustin Poirier (Lightweight)
What an epic scrap this is going to be. A few factors to consider here, the first being Poirier has a win over Holloway. This was some time ago however, and Holloway is a totally different athlete now. Poirier is a fighter that seems to have a constant chip on his shoulder and often portrays a sense of jealousy towards other athletes getting more air time and title shots. Will he let this affect him against fan favourite Holloway? We bet against Holloway in his bout against Ortega and couldn't have been more wrong. We should have learnt our lesson but we just think Poirier could well be the Hawaiian's kryptonite and history repeats itself - but with 'The Diamond' getting the stoppage this time. Either way this one won't go the distance as both fighters prefer to keep it standing.
WINNER: Poirier
METHOD: KO/TKO

Kelvin Gastelum vs.Israel Adesanya (Middleweight)
An intriguing interim belt holder match up. Adesanya will start out as the favourite but he's up against a season veteran and legit fighter in Kelvin Gastelum. The obvious pick would be Adesanya to coast towards a decision win, with some trademark showboating and smack talk but we are going to go for what many will see as a big upset.
WINNER: Gastelum
METHOD: KO/TKO

Eryk Anders vs. Khalil Rountree Jr. (Light Heavyweight)
A lot of odd makers counting out Roundtree Jr. This will be based purely on his last outing against Johnny Walker. If Roundtree Jr. can let his hands go early on he should get back on track with a KO.
WINNER: Roundtree Jr.
METHOD: KO/TKO

Alan Jouban vs. Dwight Grant (Welterweight)
Originally we had Jouban to win on decision but we've gone 360 and think 'The Bodysnatcher' will prevail.
WINNER: Grant
METHOD: KO/TKO

Ovince Saint Preux vs. Nikita Krylov (Light Heavyweight)
The funny thing about these two is that they are both really good fighters, with solid records, but for some reason it doesn't feel like they've ever reached their potential (don't forget OSP even fought Jon Jones for an interim belt way back in April 2016). If OSP wants to be considered as a contender he has to win here. A loss for Krylov could see him depart the UFC for a second time.
WINNER: OSP
METHOD: Submission

Preliminary Card (ESPN)
Jalin Turner vs. Matt Frevola (Lightweight)
Both products of Dana White's Contender Series, Frevola has struggled on the big stage, granted Turner didn't have the best start, but he seems to have beaten octagon debut jitters and found his feet.
WINNER: Turner
METHOD: KO/TKO

Wilson Reis vs. Alexandre Pantoja (Flyweight)
This is our coin toss bout. Probably best to leave this one off your card as both like to go the distance.
WINNER: Reis
METHOD: Decision

Max Griffin vs. Zelim Imadaev (Welterweight)
Imadaev makes his UFC debut with an absolutely terrifying reputation for putting opponents to sleep. Griffin has come up short in his last two bouts so he's more than likely to become the rising Russian stars next victim!
WINNER: Imadaev
METHOD: KO/TKO

Boston Salmon vs. Khalid Taha (Bantamweight)
Normally we'd go against a Contender Series winner making their UFC debut but Taha isn't the most formidable opponent.
WINNER: Salmon
METHOD: Decision

Early Preliminary Card (UFC Fight Pass)
Curtis Millender vs. Belal Muhammad (Welterweight)
Having only fought last month Millender obviously wants to get back to winning ways and will have a point to prove against the durable Muhammad.
WINNER: Millender
METHOD: KO/TKO

Montel Jackson vs. Andre Soukhamthath (Bantamweight)
Although less experienced we think Jackson has the tools to defeat Soukhamthath for sure.
WINNER: Jackson
METHOD: Submission

Lauren Mueller vs. Poliana Botelho (Women's Strawweight)
We'll be very surprised if Mueller takes this but we wouldn't put it passed Botelho to get the stoppage.
WINNER: Botelho
METHOD: Decision
