SMUGGLING DUDS UFC 240 GAMBLING GUIDE
Following on from a very strong outing we aim to maintain one of the highest percentages of correct picks online with UFC 240. Don't forget to like and share!
Main Card (BT Sport)
Max Holloway (c) vs. Frankie Edgar (Featherweight)
We have nothing but respect for Frankie Edgar, the guys a legend, but to be honest this was an easy pick for us. Following a loss (a pretty tough one at that) Holloway is back down to 145lbs and will be like a caged animal. Holloway to match Edgar in the endurance stakes, defend take downs and through a lot of punches. We think Edgar takes a lot of damage here, hopefully not too much. We mean that.
WINNER: Holloway
METHOD: KO/TKO
Cris Cyborg vs. Felicia Spencer (Women's Featherweight)
Another fighter that will be looking to prove they are still a force to be reckoned with is Cris Cyborg. A terrible game plan against Amanda Nunes resulted in her being knocked out for the first time in her entire career. She will be doing her upmost best to make sure this doesn't happen again. Against rising star Felicia Spencer it might not be as easy as expected. The Brazilian will surely get an immediate rematch against Nunes should she get passed Spencer. Her sense of invisibility has been shattered and she is no longer unbeatable. Time will tell in this one. A cheeky bet on Spencer wouldn't go a miss but Cyborg should get her hand raised.
WINNER: Cyborg
METHOD: KO/TKO
Geoff Neal vs. Niko Price (Welterweight)
Extremely tough one to call. Both fighters are phenomenal athletes that know where their opponents chin is. A great fight on paper that should produce some fireworks.
WINNER: Neal
METHOD: KO/TKO
Olivier Aubin-Mercier vs. Arman Tsarukyan (Lightweight)
If the UFC is in Canada, you better believe Olivier Aubin-Mercier is on the card and that its probably going the distance. Based purely on the fact he desperately needs a win, we'll take the Canadian to win.
WINNER: Aubin-Mercier
METHOD: Decision
Marc-André Barriault vs. Krzysztof Jotko (Middleweight)
Barriault was pipped at the post in his UFC debut but should look like a different fighter this time out.
WINNER: Barriault
METHOD: KO/TKO
Preliminary Card (BT Sports)
Alexis Davis vs. Viviane Araújo (Women's Flyweight)
Canadian native and womens MMA pioneer Davis is going to need all the support she can get from the home fans against Brazilian savage Araujo. Arguably in the twilight of her career, Davis will come up short again in the one. Wild bet might be it going the distance.
WINNER: Araujo
METHOD:KO/TKO
Hakeem Dawodu vs. Yoshinori Horie (Featherweight)
Japanese rising star (that's actually his nickname too) will probably tell the press he is going to put on a show in his UFC debut but against the brick wall that is Hakeem Dawodu, it probably won't be the case.
WINNER: Dawodu
METHOD: Decision
Gavin Tucker vs. Seung Woo Choi (Featherweight)
Neither fighter has reached their UFC potential yet but we'll go with Tucker to scrape the decision on the night - and not live up to his nickname.
WINNER: Tucker
METHOD: Decision
Alexandre Pantoja vs. Deiveson Figueiredo (Flyweight)
Brazil takes on Brazil in this one with a pair of little sluggers going toe-to-toe. Both shown great potential of late so we'll take who ever lands the big shot first.
WINNER: Pantoja
METHOD: KO/TKO
Early Prelims (UFC Fight Pass)
Gillian Robertson vs. Sarah Frota (Women's Flyweight)
To very game female fighters right here. It probably will go the distance but Robertson might just take a submission victory if she presses hard enough.
WINNER: Robertson
METHOD: Submission
Erik Koch vs. Kyle Stewart (Welterweight)
Great match making by the UFC as they've put two athletes that started their MMA career with bags of potential and loads of hype. Things haven't worked out for either lately and they have become inconsistent in their performances. Both are going to have to go for broke as a loss could be the beginning of the end in the UFC.
WINNER: Koch
METHOD: KO/TKO
Tanner Boser vs. Giacomo Lemos (Heavyweight)
Both making their UFC debut, both will be nervous, one will get sparked out.
WINNER: Lemos
METHOD: KO/TKO
