SMUGGLING DUDS UFC 268 GAMBLING GUIDE

Even with the loss of Strickland and Rockhold, this card still screams all types of action. We can’t wait for this one, and we know you can’t too!

UFC 268

Main Card (BT Sport)
Kamaru Usman (c) vs. Colby Colvington (Welterweight)
Let’s be honest here, it is pretty hard to pick against a man who has taken out Jorge Masvidal and Gilbert Burns already this year. You’ve also got to ask the question – what else can Colvington bring to this rematch? He can try and convince us the stoppage was early in their first encounter but we all know ‘Chaos’ was in serious trouble and anymore would have ended with even more injuries. There is no doubt he’ll attempt to ride out the first few rounds but there is still much dislike between these two and Usman will do whatever he can to close this chapter in his career and take his opponent out in dramatic style.
WINNER: Usman
METHOD:  KO/TKO

Rose Namajunas (c) vs. Zhang Weili (Women’s Strawweight)
We promised ourselves to never bet against ‘Thug Rose’ and we have to keep our word. There is no way this one ends as quickly as the first bout in April, the likely scenario is a much more cautious approach, not just from Zhang Weili who found herself looking up at the arena ceiling last time out, but Namajunas as well. Going the distance is a much safer bet this time.
WINNER: Namajunas
METHOD: Decision

Justin Gaethji vs. Michael Chandler (Lightweight)
Fans will expect total carnage in this one and you know what? We think they are going to get it. What a fight this is going to be, expect some serious leather to be thrown! If Chandler implements the right game plan (by this we mean a one that doesn’t include being punched in the face), he could take this, but we believe ends with Chandler seeing stars and wondering what just happened.
WINNER: Gaethji
METHOD: KO/TKO

Frankie Edgar vs. Marlon Vera (Bantamweight)
Marlon Vera is one tough dude but long-time fans of our prediction pages will know nothing brings us more pleasure, than seeing an old skool veteran, still in the game, still trying…getting their hand raised. Can Edgar do it? Course he can.
WINNER: Edgar
METHOD: Decision

Preliminary Card (BT Sport)
Alex Periera vs. Andreas Michailidis (Middleweight)
Tough one to call and whilst Michaildis is 10 years younger, with more UFC time on his record, we expect nothing but violence from Brazilian newcomer Periera.
WINNER: Periera
METHOD: KO/TKO

Al Iaquinta vs. Bobby Green (Lightweight)
Possibly the toughest bout to call on the entire card both fighters have gone to decisions in all of their bouts for over 3 years! This one will be no different and we’ve gone with Green (who will no doubt come in as the underdog) based on his impressive boxing of late.
WINNER: Green
METHOD: Decision

Shane Burgos vs. Billy Quarantilo (Featherweight)
On paper this one has absolute scrap written all over it. Fans will be keen to see how Burgess has recovered from a scary knockout at the hands of Edson Barbosa back in May. Potential fight of the night which should result in Quarantilo getting his hand raised.
WINNER: Quarantilo
METHOD: Decision

Edmen Shahbazyan vs. Nassourdine Imavov (Middleweight)
Shahbazyan begin his UFC career with a decent amount of hype, and really made a mark on the division with some impressive wins. As the calibre of his opponent began to get better, the shine wore off and in 2020/21, he is yet to taste victory. The Armenian probably needs a stoppage here to prove he is still a talent to be feared. Unfortuantely he’s up against a very crafty Frenchman, who we totally underestimated last time out, and believe us we haven’t made the same mistake again, we just think Shahbzyan will get it done here.
WINNER: Shahbazyan
METHOD:  KO/TKO

Early Preliminary Card (UFC Fight Pass)
Ian Garry vs. Jordan Williams (Welterweight)
The young Cage Warriors welterweight champ makes his UFC debut against a UFC veteran fighter on a two-fight skid. We can’t see the Irishman’s debut being the most electrifying but he should be able to grind out a comfortable decision victory. A bet on Williams to spoilt the party wouldn’t be a bad shout either.
WINNER: Garry
METHOD: Decision

Gian Vilante vs. Chris Barnett (Heavyweight)
We are not entirely sure how or why Gina Vilante is still in the UFC but this is the end of the line for him. The UFC have handed him another relatively ‘easy’ match up with a much less dangerous opponent but it won’t matter. Prepare yourself for an absolute blubber fest where both fighters gas by the end of the first round and Barnett lays on Vilante for the remaining two rounds.
WINNER: Barnett
METHOD: Decision

Dustin Jacoby Vs John Allan (Light Heavyweight)
Since signing with the UFC, it could be argued John Allan has struggled on the big stage. We think he stood a better chance against his original opponent rather than the last minute replacement he now has to face.
WINNER: Jacoby
METHOD: KO/TKO

Melsik Baghdasaryan vs. T J Laramie (Featherweight)
‘The Truth’ might just be a little too much for 23 year old Laramie. Another big upset if we get this one wrong.
WINNER: Baghdasaryan
METHOD: KO/TKO

C J Vergara Vs Ode Osbourne (Flyweight)
You know the deal by now, DWCS newbie makes debut against DWCS veteran turned UFC fighter and one gets knocked out.
WINNER: Vergara
METHOD: KO/TKO

UFC 268 WILD CARD BET: Colby Colvington to defeat Kamaru Usman via Decision
