SMUGGLING DUDS UFC 280 GAMBLING GUIDE

It feels like a while since we blessed you all with some UFC predictions so let’s make it a good one! Not a heavyweight in site and lots of grappling but still a solid card with some super intriguing bouts.

UFC 280

Main Card (BT Sport)

Charles Oliveira vs. Islam Makhachev (Lightweight)

So this one goes two ways, either Oliveira clips his opponent early doors and sinks in the RNC, or Makhachev pins the former champ to the Octagon floor for the entire fight. Such a great match up, we can’t wait to see how it pans out. At this moment in time we genuinely believe Oliveira is one of the best fighters on the planet, and if he can take out Khabib 2.0 he becomes prime Anderson Silva untouchable.

WINNER: Oliveira

METHOD: Submission

Aljamain Sterling (c) vs. T.J Dillashaw (Bantamweight)

We thought about going with Dillashaw but then realized that of you look past some of his antics, Sterling is actually an elite level athlete. Granted the same could be said for Dillashaw, but its Aljo’s time now.

WINNER: Sterling

METHOD: Submission

Petr Yan vs. Sean O’ Malley (Bantamweight)

Many will read this and shake their heads but if O’ Malley can avoid getting his leg kicked to bits he is perfectly capable of taking out Yan. We love an upset and think it is crazy to dismiss ‘The Suga Show’ like many have done in the build up to this one.

WINNER: O’ Malley

METHOD: KO/TKO

Beneil Dariush vs. Mateusz Gamrot (Lightweight)

We expect other sites to go with Gamrot, and rightly so, but even though he may not be the most exciting or charismatic of fighters, there is no denying Dariush knows how to get a win. Our concern here is the inactivity due to injury factor (Dariush has been letting his leg repair for over a year now) so have therefore joined the masses and picked Gamrot. Best leave this one off the acca though.

WINNER: Gamrot

METHOD: Decision

Katlyn Chookagian vs. Manon Fiorot (Women’s Flyweight)

One thing is guaranteed in any Katlyn Chookagian fight and that is the bout is probably going the distance…Not this time though. Don’t be surprised to see ‘The Beast’ get the stoppage.

WINNER: Fiorot

METHOD: Decision

Preliminary Card (BT Sport)

Belal Muhammad vs. Sean Brady (Welterweight)

Brady will come into this one as favourite to win, and he probably will, but it won’t be as easy as he thinks. Don’t expect fireworks in this one, we expect it to be a drawn out 3 round affair.

WINNER: Brady

METHOD: Decision

Makhmud Muradov vs. Caio Borralho vs (Middleweight)

Muradov will be looking to erase any memory of his last performance (a surprise loss to GM3) and will be looking to prove a point on Yas Island.

WINNER: Muradov

METHOD: KO/TKO

Nikita Krylov vs. Volkan Oezdemir (Light heavyweight)

Many (including us) felt Oezdemir was on his way out of the UFC with back-to-back losses (one being a brutal KO) but he managed to pull a win out the bag against Paul Craig, maintaining his relevancy in the heavyweight division. Whilst neither of these will ever be UFC champion, Krylov should be able to scrape a decision against an opponent that will most likely gas by the second round.

WINNER: Krylov

METHOD: Decision

Zubaira Tukhugov vs. Lucas Almeida (Featherweight)

Picking another underdog here but we think the Brazilian has enough skill to take a decision victory over the popular Russian

WINNER: Almeida

METHOD: Decision

Magomed Mustafaev vs. Yamato Nishikawa (Lightweight)

It is difficult not to get caught up in the hype when a young brawler makes his debut – especially when they are an MMA veteran at the age of 19!!! Whilst mighty impressive, the reality is Nishikawa is going to get a rude awakening in his UFC debut. The big stage, the heat and the fact he’s up against an absolute wrecking machine can only mean one thing.

WINNER: Mustafaev

METHOD: KO/TKO

Abubakar Nurmagomedov vs. Gadzhi Omargadzhiev (Welterweight)

He may carry the prestigious surname but we are going to put our neck on the line (again) and say Abukar Nurmagomedov loses to a close decision against the equally durable Gadzhi Omargadzhiev. The real winners will be the commentators if they can get through this one with no mispronunciations.

WINNER: Omargadzhiev

METHOD: Decision

Armen Petrosyan vs. A.J Dobson (Middleweight)

Two product of DWCS will go head-to-head in what we expect shall result in ‘Superman’ being vicoroius.

WINNER: Petrosyan

METHOD: KO/TKO

Muhammad Mokaev vs. Malcom Gordon (Flyweight)

With the momentum Mokaev has built up, and the experience he has already, we thought a bigger named gate-keeper may have been offered. At no disrespect to Malcom Gordon, this is an easy nights work for the 22 year old.

WINNER: Mokaev

METHOD: KO/TKO

Karol Rosa vs. Lina Lansberg (Woman’s Bantamweight)

Rosa came up short against an elite wrestler in Sara McMann last ime out but she should be fine here. Whilst Lansberg is no pushover, at 40 years old her time in the UFC will come to an end after losing here

WINNER: Rosa

METHOD: Decision

UFC 280 WILDCARD BET: T.J Dillashaw to defeat Aljamain Sterling via KO/TKO
