SMUGGLING DUDS UFC FIGHT NIGHT 113 GAMBLING GUIDE
The UFC returns to UK shores on Sunday night, combine this with the fact we absolutely smashed it out the park with our last guide meant we simply had to sort you out again.
No need to thank us, just go buy some Duds!
MAIN CARD
Gunnar Nelson Vs Santiago Ponzinibbio (WW)
Ponzinibbio has grinded out some impressive wins but the submission specialist from Iceland has found his rhythm again and Ponzinibbio will have to produce the performance of his life to avoid the clutches of Nelson. This bout has first round submission written all over it.
WINNER: Nelson
PREDICTION: Submission
Joanne Calderwood Vs Cynthia Calvillo (STRAW)
Calvillo has been on fire lately and is quickly becoming a poster girl for the UFC. Although very tough, Calderwood has shown she can often get caught in submission holds and her opponent loves a good submission attempt. This could be another bad night at the office for the hometown favourite. Calderwood’s best chance is to keep the rising star at bay with her striking but we expect Calvillo to find a way to work her way inside and secure the victory.
WINNER: Calvillo
PREDICTION: Submisson
Stevie Ray Vs Paul Felder (LW)
A total 50/50 fight. Both fighters have shown intelligent striking and take down defence but this will be more of a kick boxing bout for sure and the outcome will be whoever impresses the judges! A real tough one to call.
WINNER: Ray
PREDICTION: Decision
Jack Marshman Vs Ryan Janes (MW)
Welsh slugger Marshman came up short with a devastating KO loss to Thiago Santos in his last UFC outing but it should be a different story this time. Don’t blink.
WINNER: Marshman
PREDICTION: KO/TKO
Khalil Rowntree Vs Paul Craig (LHW)
The Scotsman will be looking to bounce back from defeat and get his UFC career back on track with a win over the TUF finalist.
WINNER: Craig
PREDICTION: Submission
James Mulheron Vs Justin Willis (HW)
If you’ve been following his exclusive blog on our website you will see that UFC newcomer James Mulheron is ready to go to war. Mulheron was handed a golden ticket when fellow Brit Mark Godbeer was unable to compete. James Willis is an AKA athlete so will be looking to put the Brit away early doors but don’t be fooled, ‘The Juggernaught’ has cardio for days and chin of steel. As long as he doesn’t get overwhelmed in the opening minutes Mulheron can get the victory once Willis runs out of steam.
WINNER: Mulheron
PREDICTION: Decision
PRELIMS (Fox Sports 1)
Danny Roberts Vs Bobby Nash (WW)
A tough one to call as both the Roberts and Nash hype trains got derailed via KO’s in their last outings. Don’t be surprised to see a more cautious approach from each fighter. Roberts will want it more.
WINNER: Roberts
PREDICTION: Decision
Alexandro Pantoja Vs Neil Seery (FLY)
Nothing would make us happier so see Smuggling Duds team member Neil Seery finally call it a day with the ‘W’. Unfortunately the likely scenario is a decision win for Pantoja.
WINNER: Pantoja
PREDICTION: Decision
Charlie Ward Vs Galore Bonfando (WW)
Having been knocked out in his UFC debut time will tell what game plan Ward has for some one like Bonfando, a man who knows how to shut his opponents down.
WINNER: Bonfando
PREDICTION: KO/TKO
Danny Henry s Daniel Teymur (LW)
Both fighters are making their UFC debut and as much as it would be great to see the Scotsman doing the business in front of the home crowd, the brother to UFC heavyweight David Teymur might just pull off a submission victory over the EFC veteran.
WINNER: Teymur
PREDICTION: Submission
PRELIMS (UFC Fight Pass)
Brett Johns Vs Albert Morales (BW)
Originally lined up to face Mitch Gagnon, the likeable Welshman now faces late replacement Albert Morales. Shouldn’t matter too much though as Johns will still get his hand raised.
WINNER: Johns
PREDICTION: Decision
Leslie Smith Vs Amanda Lamos (BW)
Lamos does have some stoppages on her CV but the calibre of her opponents don’t match those faced by Leslie Smith. Expect this one to go the distance with little action.
WINNER: Smith
PREDICTION: Decision
