BILLY MACKENZIE’S BIG IMPRESSION!
After a season riddled with set backs, Billy MacKenzie was able to take the championship fight to Jay Marmont down to the last moto of the year at Coolum. He managed to get maximum point from the round but Jay just got the best of him in the championship, Billy Mac was gracious in defeat and congratulated the 3-time champ.
Billy’s late form and results in this tough season cough the attention of many. He was called up to take the injured Chad Reed’s Monster Energy Kawasaki ride for the last two rounds of the AMA Outdoor Motocross Nationals and selected to be on the Great Britain team at the Motocross Des Nations (World Cup of the Motocross). Unfortunately after getting a very impressive 4th quickest qualifying time, Mackenzie went down hard in the first corner of the second moto, breaking his collar bone and ending his US experience early. The injury also sidelined him for the Motocross Des Nations that was only a few weeks after the crash.
Billy MacKenzie has now full recovered and came joint first at the Monster Energy Sydney Supercross.
